In Green Lake Country we are working hard to preserve our natural resources (lakes, marshlands, trails) and assist more businesses is becoming Travel Green certified. 

Environmental Stewardship is the responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices. It was Aldo Leopold (1887–1948) who advocated it, stressing the importance of “dealing with man’s relation to land and to the animals and plants which grow upon it”. Green Lake Country strives to cultivate, recognize and support the continuous efforts of environmental stewardship that many of our members engage in. The organizations and businesses enrich our communities by respecting our environment, on which life depends; accepting personal and organizational responsibility for environmental quality; and, they all recognize the need to sustain the environment for future generations.
