Vines & Rushes

Vines and Rushes Winery is located on the Prellwitz family farm in Ripon, Wisconsin – also the home of the Prellwitz Produce strawberry farm. Our winemaking facility and tasting room is located on the farm itself and we encourage you to come visit the tasting room and try our wines.  Our focus is on cold hardy grape varieties capable of surviving Wisconsin’s frigid winters.  Our wines are an expression of the soil, climate, farming and winemaking practices that provide a sense of place to each wine. You’ll taste our commitment to a quality, Wisconsin grown wine with every sip.  The construction of the winery has been a family effort.  All of the flooring, trim, tasting bar and most of the furniture has been created from salvaged timber frame barn’s that were sawn up with a sawmill purchased just for this purpose.  The character provided by these old beams gives the tasting room a “sense of place” that fits right in with Wisconsin’s rural landscape.  Just as many hours of hard manual labor were required to form the timber frame barn into it’s original structure, many hours have been required to mold these beams into their new purpose.  Saved from the burn pile and with the touch of craftsmanship, beauty often lies just under the surface of an old barn beam.  The combination of quality Wisconsin grown wines, an inviting tasting room, friendly customer service and frequent fun events held at the winery make for an enjoyable experience that is uniquely Wisconsin (for more event information, visit their website or fb page).

Rushford Meadery & Winery

We began production in 2015 and are open for tasting and sales.  We have also planted our vineyard and orchard. The vineyard consists of Petite Pearl, Marquette, Frontenac, St. Pepin, Brianna, and La Crescent vines, while the orchard consists of mostly classic cider apples and some local favorites thrown in for fun like Wolf River and Cortland.  Local produce and honey are used when possible.  Rushford Meadery and Winery is located at 8389 Liberty School Rd. in Omro.  Call (920) 468-6323 or visit www.rushmw.com {Rushford Meadery & Winery is a member of the Ripon Chamber of Commerce)
