Friends of the Library to Host Conservation Speaker

Join the Friends of the Ripon Public Library for “Horicon Marsh-A Conservation Legacy” on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.  Erin Railsback, Visitor Services Specialist at Horicon National Wildlife Refuge, will present this program in conjunction with the Friends’ annual meeting.

Ms. Railsback’s presentation will cover a brief history of the marsh and also the importance of wetland and habitat conservation and highlight some ongoing projects at the Wildlife Refuge.  Ms. Railsback is responsible for the environmental education, interpretive, and volunteer programs at the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge-programs that provide opportunities for numerous youth, visitors, and volunteers to learn about and connect with the Horicon Marsh.

The presentation will be held in the Silver Creek Room in the lower level of the Ripon Public Library.  It is free and all are welcome to attend.  Any questions may be directed to Julie Waldvogel, Friends of the Library chair, at waldvogelj@gmail.com.
