June 6, Saturday, 8:30 a.m.— 11:oo a.m.—Canoe or Kayak the Backwaters, Sponsored by the Green Team. Come bird the backwaters with artist and ornithologist Tom Schultz. Tom guides participants into the far back waters of the Co. K marsh to experience the bird life in an area not known to many people. Participants should bring their own kayaks or canoes, life jackets, binoculars, etc. Meet at the point of land on the south side of CO. K  just east of the CO. June 30, July 1, 2, and 3, 6:00-8:30 p.m.—Green Lake Boater Safety Course. The Green Lake Association provides life jackets to all who successfully complete the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources-authorized classes in Princeton and Green Lake. Wisconsin boating safety certification or out of state equivalent certification is required for operators born on or after January 1, 1989 and who are at least 16 years of age. Operators 12 to 15 years of age must either have a boating safety certificate or have an adult on board while operating. July 11, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.—Mitchell Glen Tour, Sponsored by the Green Team. Participants will enjoy the sights of this Glen that usually is only made available to the public as a spring or fall event. Participants will meet and the bus will depart from Sunset County Park at the east end of Green Lake. This involves a lot of steps and walking to get into the Glen.  Due to high demand for this spectacular event, participants must make (and keep) reservations by contacting  The Green Lake Sanitary District, 920-295-4488. This event is FULL.

July 18, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to noon, Playground Park, Green Lake Association's 1st Annual Youth Fishing Clinic. Come learn about the basic knowledge needed to begin fishing and the importance of clean water to good fishing. Mini lectures, demonstrations, and activities will take place in a station format to maximize learning experiences. Local anglers will share their knowledge and wisdom about topics such as water safety, fishing regulations and ethics, fish identification, tackle assembly and bait types, knot tying, casting hooking and landing the catch. Registration is required by calling 920-294-6480. Registration begins June 1 for GLA members and June 15 for non-members. Cost is free for GLA members and $5.00/non-member. Children must be under the age of 16 and parents are required to supervise their children during the entire duration of the clinic. Sponsored by Walleyes for Tomorrow-Green Lake Chapter.

August 1, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. —Bike and walk into the history of The City of Green Lake, Sponsored by the Green Team. This event will start by bike from Sunset Park at the east end of Green Lake. Local historian, Larry Behlen, will lead participants as they bike and learn the historical highlights along the area of Sunset Park, Illinois Ave and Lake Street.  The biking will stop at the city dam/Chamber area where a circular walking tour featuring the history of downtown Green Lake will begin.  Participants will need to bring their own bike, helmet, etc. This activity will end at the dam.  Contact Jerry Specht (920-229-4468) for details. This will be about 3 miles of biking and 1 mile of walking. No reservations necessary. Cost is free.

August 15, Saturday, 7:00 p.m., Thrasher Opera House, 510 Mill St.— Green Lake Association's Daycholah Movie Premiere. This documentary explores Green Lake's geological, environmental, and cultural evolution. A rich tapestry of interviews, historical documents, video, and still images are woven together with a soundtrack composed by Green Lake musicians and scripted narration. Don't miss this enjoyable and informative movie premiere. Tom Eddy and Al Folker began producing this film nearly 3 years ago with the financial support of an anonymous GLA donor and the Oshkosh Community Foundation. Learn more about this project.
