Green Lake Country is in central Wisconsin and comprises the five beautiful little cities of Berlin, Markesan, Princeton and Ripon. All rich in history and natural resources, throughout our area you can swim, ski, kayak, canoe, boat or fish in Wisconsin’s deepest inland lake, or along the Mecan, Puchyan and Fox rivers. A golfer? Tee off at each one of our fabulous Golf Courses: Lawsonia, Mascoutin & Tuscumbia.
For the birdwatchers, photographers & nature enthusiasts, view the spring and fall colors with a contemplative walk through our many protected trails. For the more activity-inclined, many of these areas are also open to bikes, strollers and… horses! (i.e. the Mascoutin Valley Trail in Berlin).
The lovers of art and music can listen to live bands perform in our parks or at the historical Thrasher Opera House. Take a creative art class, visit our unique art galleries and get to know our very talented local artists: painters, glass blowers, quilters, ceramicists, candle makers just to name a few (soon to come on our website, an Art section with more detailed information). One of a kind shopping, dining and wine-tasting events take place throughout the year.
And our shared, rich history, can be experienced in each of our local museums and historical sites, in the architecture, in the finds at our Princeton Flea Market, and last but not least, with a fun guided canoe trip down the Fox River.
We pride ourselves in offering lodging, dining and entertainment to fit each and every budget. Each city excels because of its own unique qualities, but we work together to provide authentic hospitality and make your time in Green Lake Country a memorable experience.
